The UFC veteran, Nick Diaz stepped inside the Octagon after six years to face the former UFC Welterweight champion, Robbie Lawler at UFC 266. Diaz and Lawler produced a show for the fight fans around the world that no one thought they would.

Although, Diaz lost the fight but his presence electrified the arena and now the fight fans want to see him fighting again. The UFC president Dana White also praised Nick Diaz by saying that he looked much better than he expected.

Along with White, the former two-division UFC champion, Daniel Cormier is also excited to see Nick Diaz fighting inside the Octagon once again. Cormier was holding the position of the ringside commentator at UFC 266 and he was as excited to see Nick Diaz as any other fight fan.

In his latest episode of DC and RC, Cormier names three fighters that Diaz can face next. Daniel Cormier says, “For me, it’s guys like this: Niko Price, Donald Cerrone, Mike Perry. Those types of guys, for me, I’m tuning in to watch Nick Diaz fight every single time.”

Nick Diaz and Robbie Lawler had really exciting first two rounds of the fight, but in the third round of the fight, Diaz was unable to continue further after getting caught with a blow on the leg. Daniel Cormier defended Nick Diaz’s decision to not continue further and added,

“I kind of take a different view of it. Remember, this is Nick Diaz, who threw in the towel when his brother was getting beat by Josh Thomson. This is Nick Diaz as a veteran of the game who understood, ‘this is not going my way,’ so he pulled the plug.”

Cormier concluded, “I don’t think Nick should be judged as a quitter, I think Nick should be judged as a person that just knew, ‘hey, this is not for me right now.'”
