Joe Solecki vs Donald Cerrone
It seems like we’re going to see the sun of MMA Legend “Cowboy” Donald Cerrone set anytime soon now. Cerrone continues to show his rough ride in a combat sports competition on Thursday, however this time, in a grappling event titled Fury Pro Grappling 3. Cerrone last fought in MMA at UFC on ESPN 24 when he lost a unanimous decision to fellow welterweight contender Alex Morono.

Now, Cerrone is on an unfortunate 5 fight skid in MMA and a no-contest was added to it as well when his opponent Niko Price was tested positive for marijuana after the fight after which the fight had to be overturned. Regardless, Cerrone will be the most fan-favourite fighter of all time for he was the initial torch bearer of the “anyone, anytime and anyplace” attitude which meant that a fighter is ready to fight any fighter regardless of the ranking or any special condition of short notices.
Cerrone was for once an all-time record holder for the most finishes in the UFC as well as is the current record holder for most wins in the UFC, for sure he has the most fight night bonuses garnered as well. These achievements however are also built out of a legendary resume that includes victories over Charles Oliveira, Dennis Siver, Jeremy Stephens, Melvin Guillard, K.J. Noons, Edson Barboza, Jim Miller, Eddie Alvarez, Myles Jury, Benson Henderson, Alex Oliveira, Mike Perry, Patrick Cote, Yancy Medeiros, Al Iaquinta and Alexander Hernandez.

Watch the clip below as UFC Welterweight Donal Cerrone tapped to up and coming UFC Lightweight and submission heavy fighter himself Joe Solecki. The finish was a rear-naked choke. Solecki made his UFC debut through Dana White’s Contender Series in the season of June 2019, from there on, Solecki is 4-1 in the company and has amassed an overall record of 11 wins and just 3 losses. Despite losing the last MMA bout, Solecki still has a lot to show in his MMA career.
What do you make of Solecki’s impressive performance against a legend and a submission specialist like Cerrone himself? For sure we all are feeling a little bad to see Cerrone on the losing end of the competition that much, but we all can just appreciate the pioneers of the sport as they are still here, until the day they bid a farewell to fight life.
