Dustin Poirier’s last octagon appearance was at UFC 269 against champion Charles Oliveira for the lightweight title. The fighter failed to capture the title and lost the bout via submission in the third round. Since then, the Louisiana native has been trying to get a new fight but has not found any lead from the UFC.

Earlier Poirier declared that he would like to move up to the welterweight division and fight Nate Diaz. The rivalry took off and both the superstars exchanged a few words through social media. As the fans were looking forward to the fight, the UFC decided not to give it a green light.

Dustin Poirier’s name was linked with Conor McGregor for a potential fourth fight which Poirier completely denied. It’s been around 6 months since Poirier has been out of action and is currently desperate to get back inside the octagon. This might be the reason he is open to fighting anyone.
