Dustin Poirier’s last octagon appearance was at UFC 269 against champion Charles Oliveira for the lightweight title. The fighter failed to capture the title and lost the bout via submission in the third round. Since then, the Louisiana native has been trying to get a new fight but has not found any lead from the UFC.

Earlier Poirier declared that he would like to move up to the welterweight division and fight Nate Diaz. The rivalry took off and both the superstars exchanged a few words through social media. As the fans were looking forward to the fight, the UFC decided not to give it a green light.

Dustin Poirier’s name was linked with Conor McGregor for a potential fourth fight which Poirier completely denied. It’s been around 6 months since Poirier has been out of action and is currently desperate to get back inside the octagon. This might be the reason he is open to fighting anyone.

Poirier is known for his frequent Twitter interactions. The fighter regularly answers the questions made by fans on Twitter and says his heart out.

In one of his Twitter reactions, the fighter dropped a hint of his intentions to fight Ferguson or Chandler.

One user named @whoishaydee suggested Poirier to take on the winner of the Chandler vs Ferguson fight next. “Fight the winner of chandler Ferguson.”

While responding to the tweet, the two-time UFC lightweight contender replied affirmatively. “Prolly so ,” wrote Poirier.

Ferguson and Chandler were set to take on each other at UFC 274 and the hype around the fight is impressive. Both the fighters are coming into the fight from consecutive losses and will try to do everything to get a win.

There is a huge possibility that the fight will be a bloody war as both Ferguson and Chandler are well known for their brutal fighting style.

For Poirier to fight the winner of the Ferguson vs Chandler fight does make sense as it would be a great challenge for the fighter. Similarly, with fight fans, it would be a chance to experience an entertaining fight that these fighters are capable of producing.
