“Don’t be a scared lil b**ch this time,” Dustin Poirier, Nate Diaz, trade words for a fight at 170
Dustin Poirier vs Nate Diaz
If the names of Dustin Poirier and Nate Diaz excite you more than any other in amongst the lighter weight classes of the UFC, it’s quite a possibility you can see them inside the Octagon, only if the negotiations go right this time. Poirier and Diaz have a brief history in an unresolved beef where both the fighters were supposed to fight at UFC 230 in November 2018, but due to failed negotiations, the fight got cancelled and by the time it could’ve been rebooked, Poirier addressed a major long-term injury that needed immediate surgery.
Now, both the fighters are dealing with their losses from their last fight, with Diaz losing unanimous decision from Leon Edwards at UFC 263 and Poirier losing his second title shot via submission to Charles Oliveira at UFC 269. Regardless, the names of both these fighters ring attention and money across the fight business and whether a super fight or not, the magnitude of this fight is going to get an enormous number of eyes to attend.
Dustin Poirier responds to Nate Diaz proposal, Diaz claps back on Twitter
In a brief trade of tweeting words of war on Twitter, Diaz and Poirier are again proposing to fight each other with Poirier being the first one to initiate the talk by calling out Diaz via Instagram and reposting media outlets that got him calling out the latter.
Diaz posts a screenshot of Dustin Poirier’s Instagram story that had sports journalist Chamatkar Sandhu’s post which captioned “The one that got away, would love to see it. At 170, why not? Makes sense to me.” Diaz wrote above the screenshot “I’ll fight Dp in January don’t be a scared lil bitch this time now or never”
Poirier then replied to Diaz in the comments section, “I’ll fight you this month,” to which Diaz further said “Ur full of shit” and Poirier responded to this too saying “Im serious bro.”
Poirier then came with a final call to Diaz on making sure if he wants to have it, this time on Twitter.
This fight is a treat for the fans, both casuals and hardcore. The fight based on styles is exciting too, no matter the resume difference from the victories and skillsets of both the fighters. With Diaz known as one of the elite submission artists of the ground, you cannot count out the chance of him getting Poirier in trouble as Poirier as the latter has shown major susceptibility to submission attempts.
On standing, both the fighters like to keep high volume boxing over their opponents till it tires their opponents out and then they can go for the decision or possibly a TKO victory. Diaz’s boxing is unique to figure out, but Poirier is an amazing counter puncher as well. Who do you get it winning if the fight happens?
