Fight fans got extremely surprised at how the fight between Khamzat Chimaev and Gilbert Burns went. The much-anticipated fight between Chimaev and Burns just took place inside the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, United States.
The fight had gained immense popularity as it featured Chimaev who is currently experiencing a monumental hype. Coming into the Russian-born Swedish was the fan favorite and was expected to run through Burns.
But in reality, it was not what the world was expecting. The Brazilian put on a wonderful performance and gave Khamzat Chimaev his biggest challenge. The fight was brutal and extremely close. Khamzat Chimaev who is known for his dominating wrestling failed to do anything on the ground. It helped Burns to capitalize on striking but it wasn’t enough to win the fight. After three rounds, Chimaev was announced as the winner via unanimous decision

After an unexpected yet incredible fight that took place between Chimaev and Burns, Twitter went crazy. Many fans were shocked as they saw Chimaev struggling for the first time in his UFC career. One of the fans, @DovySimuMMA took this opportunity to jokingly mock Daren Till who is currently training with Chimaev. The fan blamed Till for training with ‘The Borz’ and ruining his fighting skills. He wrote, “bro w*f has Darren till done. 2 months with khamazt and he’s ruined him UFC 273.”
Other Twitter users found this tweet very amusing and went on to reply and retweet it, proving that many others felt the same. Till and Chimaev are currently the famous dynamic duo and have been training together for some time now. Both the fighters have shared that both have helped each other a lot during their preparations.
A Twitter handle named @infamous22412 shared that whether it’s a win or lose, Burns surely made a lot of new fans for taking on a fight with Chimaev. Who is undoubtedly one of the biggest prospects in the division? Burns faced a fighter who nobody wanted to fight and gave him an extremely strong competition.

As the fight was very close, it was expected to get mixed reactions from the fans who would not approve of the results. One of the fans @texaboy10605669 claimed that Burns was robbed and he actually is the winner of the fight. The fan pointed out the fact that the crowd was booing to the decision and it was a clear robbery.
