In a featherweight fight between Lerone Murphy (10-0-2) and Douglas Silva De Andrade (30-6) at UFC Fight Island 8 and, Lerone Murphy beat Douglas Silva De Andrade via unanimous decision.

Round 1– Murphy and Andrade both started the round with some explosive striking. De Andrade attacked with some low kicks while Murphy landed some good shots at the head. Murphy maintained his distance pretty good and De Andrade was having some trouble getting into the striking range. We score this round 10-9 in favor of Murphy.

Round 2– Murphy threw a leg kick, Andrade caught it and secures a takedown. He tries for a choke but Murphy got out of it, Murphy destroyed Andrade’s leg and momentarily knocked him down. Murphy then tries a takedown but Andrade counters it with a takedown of his own, but Murphy managed to get up. Andrade hit him with a solid body shot but Murphy came back with a couple of leg kicks. We score it 10-9 in favor of Andrade.

Round 3- Both the fighters look pretty even at striking. Andrade comes in with a hook but Murphy is countering it beautifully with a jab, a groin kick from Andrade from Murphy caused a brief pause in the fight. At the end of the fight Murphy took him down and ended the fight on top. 10-9 round in favor of Murphy.

Result: Lerone Murphy def. Douglas Silva de Andrade via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)
