UFC Fight Night: Andrei Arlovski vs Tanner Boser results; Arlovski wins via decision

The co-main event of UFC fight: Vegas was a heavyweight bout between Andrei Arlovski and Tanner Boser. The fight saw Arlovski pick up the win via UD although Boser had an advantage in significant strikes. This would be Arlovski’s 2nd straight win, the first time in more than two and a half years that he is on a winning streak.

Arlovski moved to his 19th win the division, which is also the most all-time. It’s the first time he has won consecutive fights since March 2018, but has not recorded a knockout since May 2015. Boser won his other two appearances in 2020. He was a sizable betting favorite, but fell to 3-2 in the Octagon.

Fight Analysis:

Round 1: Boser got a left hand in to start and avoided a hand counter from Arlovski. Arlovski attempted a head kick that Boser blocked, both exchanged left hooks, but Boser’s landed a bit better. Arlovski misses a kick followed by a wild spinning backfist and Boser misses with a to the face. The round comes to a close with a brief moment that saw Arlovski land a heavy right hand.

Round 2: The round starts with both men landing early leg kick, followed by even more leg kicks. Boser got the better of those exchanges. Both men throw right hands, Arlovski lands his while Boser just misses. A right straight from Arlovski stumbles Boser back a little, but Boser lands his own left about 30 seconds later. The fight remains at a slow pace uptil this point. 13-4 advantage in leg kicks landed for Boser, Arlovski lands a huge spinning backfist seconds before the bell.

Round 3(final round): Round 3 started off with Boser getting a right hand in, causing Arlovski to step back and recover. He then narrowly missed a spinning backfist but does land another few leg kicks. Arlovski charges forward with strikes, with only the left hand landing, but lands a huge right just after. Arlovski gets in a right hand and then he charges and throws another big right that drives Boser back into the cage. The fight comes to an end.
