Bryce Mitchell’s array of weird usually knows no bounds; never had, never will. The UFC featherweight is prone to practising the weird in all shapes and forms. However, now the fighter has crossed a new threshold of unseen weird that roped in rival 145-pounder Jean Silva as well.
Bryce Mitchell was in hot water for his extreme anti-semitic rantings before the UFC 314 fight. He faced Jean Silva third-to-last on the PPV main card pecking order, where ‘Lord’ got the better of him via. a second-round submission. Before that, the controversial flat-Earther had more quirky takes about fighting bears and his deer-jitsu hunting escapades.
While one’d think his loss to Silva would simmer down his antics for a better fight prep, it did not. Mitchell is infamously one of the UFC’s most unusual specimens. As the Team Barata MMA fighter preps and waits for his next UFC booking, he’s now gone to bizarre lengths to keep his pace. This time, he’s stringing up and using dead hunted cattle as heavy bags!

After falling to Josh Emmett and his all-time violent KO in a December outing at UFC 296, Mitchell reeled back. He stood out with a strong finish of Kron Gracie at UFC 310, but failed to make a point against Jean Silva. Right now, he is not yet booked for his next fight. With the fighter switching it up to cattle as MMA fodder with his coaches on site in Arkansas, his methods have drawn quite a few responses.
Fight fans react to Bryce Mitchell’s new training methods
The combat community always considers Mitchell a few ambers short or even a bit over the norm. He has gone to absolutely unnecessary and one-sided wars with South African techie Elon Musk and claimed to have wrestled passed-out herds.
So, there’s quite no guarantee what Bryce Mitchell would do next. But for the UFC 145-pounder to take jabs at hanging dead cattle is grotesque, even by his standards. Here is what some fans think of it so far:
yeah this is just weird lol. Christians do just about everything more barbaric than Muslims but talk the most shit https://t.co/hddpvfSvWA

Him sparring with dead animals kind of explains the outcome of his recent fights.

I’ll put up with the flat Earth.
Tolerate the Nazi rhetoric.
But animal cruelty is where I draw the line, mister.
Safe to say the responses weren’t kind to the 30-year-old UFC featherweight. A prime response (@gckardel) even billed it as weird and unwarranted brutality. Many other responses have mirrored the same. Some have even presented that it is a prime notion to respect the hunt and not brutalize them with jabs. However, that’s not where the buck stops.
Bryce Mitchell put on blast by rival featherweight Jean Silva on topic of weird animalistic training methods
The Jean Silva vs. Bryce Mitchell clash started well before their scrapper. Silva demanded this matchup against the #13-ranked fighter and cracked the top 15 for it. Silva would often poke at his weirdness for it. In the lead-up to their rivalry, Mitchell even blamed the fighter of demonic possession for affecting his sleep.

It’s a given that the duo has worked up quite the animosity during their grudge match. Hence, Jean Silva didn’t sit back on finding footage of him using a dead animal as a piece of training prop.
Only this way for you to hit someone! You’d better stay on the farm taking care of cattle, because things aren’t working out with athletes!

After his massive win over Mitchell, Silva is quickly ascending to a potential 145-pound title crack. A potential showdown with Alexander Volkanovski was briefly linked to Silva, after UFC 314. Hence, amping up a rivalry and a rematch with someone he already defeated is not a bad bargain for him to make to earn contender match-ups.
