UFC Fighter Paddy Pimblett Stops Press Conference To Announce He Won’t Take Questions From ‘The Sun’

Paddy Pimblett- The Sun

Seems like UFC Lightweight Paddy Pimblett has found his discomfort zone in media where public personalities start disliking a certain media outlet and for Pimblett, it’s THE SUN. Pimblett, who’s 17-3 in his overall MMA career, is preparing for his second UFC fight as he faces Rodrigo Vargas this weekend at UFC Fight Night London. Pimblett won his UFC debut via first-round knockout last year.

Pimblett, fighting out of England, is considered one of the biggest prospects who has the potential that could reach in to become the UFC champion. Pimblett was hyped up all the way at least a month before his UFC debut. Now, fighting in front of his home crowd, Pimblett is going to face a new challenge of how the pressure to compete feels like when the expectations of the spectators tear up the room.

Pimblett started off himself with a little heads up at his pre-fight media scrum ahead of UFC Fight Night London and the heads up was purely for just one and only, The Sun, a British tabloid newspaper founded in 1964 by News Group Newspapers as a successor to the Daily Herald.

“Before we get started, are any reporters from The Sun in here? Don’t dare ask me a question,” says Pimblett “Don’t put me in a rag of that newspaper, just thought I’d get that in, yeah? End of,” concluded Pimblett.

According to SportsBible– Pimblett is a scouser through and through and a staunch supporter of Liverpool. The newspaper is widely boycotted on Merseyside and is notoriously known in relation to how the 1989 Hillsborough disaster was covered and the lies that were printed. In the Hillsborough disaster, 97 Liverpool football club supporters were crushed in a stampede during a match between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest, and all that happened due to the negligence of the South Yorkshire Police.
