UFC fighter pay comparisons to NBA or NFL is unfair, says Endeavor CFO Jason Lublin

Endeavor CFO defends UFC fighter pay
UFC owners Endeavor has given their statement regarding the UFC fighter pay issue that has raised many eyebrows in recent times. Chief Financial Officer Jason Lublin has shut down the comparisons between UFC to team sports in the US.
Despite the several hurdles faced by the entire world, Endeavor and UFC have managed to keep their business booming even during these tough times. In fact, the Ultimate Fighting Championship recorded some of its best profits during the pandemic outbreak as they were the first sports-related business to open itself to the audience following the outbreak.
In a recent earnings call, Endeavor suggested that the company has seen massive turnovers in the year 2021. Most of their success comes from the pay-per-view shows that the MMA promotion has put out in recent years. Despite being one of the most successful franchises, the company has still received a lot of flak for the UFC fighter pay issue.
CFO of Endeavor, Jason Lublin has come out and answered the concerns that have to do with the UFC fighter pay. “We agree there has been a lot of comparisons drawn to team sports such as the NFL and NBA, and we actually don’t think that is the right comparison to the UFC,” said Lublin while talking about the treatment of fighters. Jason Lublin insists UFC fighter pay be compared to individual sports

“We think the right comparison is to other individual sports, such as the PGA tour, F1, NASCAR, and ATP. If you look at those athletes and what they’re paid as a relative percentage of revenue for those leagues, it’s right in line where the UFC is with their athlete compensation,” said Jason of Endeavor Group Holdings.
UFC President Dana White has also defended the fighter’s pay of the promotion multiple times and has claimed no other fighting promotion takes care of fighters compared to them. Fighters like Francis Ngannou have bought a lot of attention to the fact of poor fighter treatment by the UFC.
Endeavor companies continue to thrive while the UFC fighters constantly come out in protest of their paycheck. What do you think of Jason Lublin’s statement?
