Francis Ngannou says UFC threatened to sue his manager
The drama between Francis Ngannou and the UFC is a lot deeper than we all thought. The heavyweight champion reveals a shocking story on how the UFC tried to sue his manager leading into UFC 270.
Francis Ngannou, the heavyweight champion of the UFC is undoubtedly one of the most loved fighters in the world right now. The fighter managed to defend his belt with a lot of riding on his back and somehow managed to come out victorious. The fighter not only had to take on one of the most skilled heavyweights the world has witnessed, but he also had some troubles coming from the promotion he fought under.
It is very known to the world that Francis and the UFC have not had the best of relationships in recent times. The fighter has called out the promotion for not treating him right and things have hit another level in the past three weeks. After defending his title against the undefeated Ciryl Gane at UFC 270, Ngannou made an appearance on The MMA Hour hosted by Ariel Helwani. The Cameroonian fighter dropped a shocking truth that happened leading up to the fight.
In his interview, Francis revealed the fighting company sent a message to his manager, Marquel Martin threatening to sue him. This email was sent only moments before Ngannou was heading to the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The company threatened to sue Ngannou’s manager for an alleged conversation with a boxing promoter, Nakisa Bidarian.

“They told me they just received an email from the UFC saying they’re going to sue him (manager) for taking with this guy, Nakisa. I’m like, ‘who is Nakisa?…Is he a promoter or something?'” said Francis talking to Ariel Helwani on MMA Hour. Though the company claimed Francis has been talking to different promoters, the heavyweight champ said he doesn’t even know the guy they claim.
“I don’t know him (Nakisa Bidarian). I couldn’t recognize him if you put him in front of me. Secondly, he’s not the promoter. It’s not like I can’t have a dialogue with people about boxing. I talk about boxing all the time,” reaffirmed Ngannou.
The guy UFC claim Ngannou has been talking to is none other than Jake Paul’s business partner. Nakisa Bidarian is the co-founder of the Most Valuable Promotions. Bidarian is also the former CFO of UFC who is reported to have his beef with the boss Dana White. What do you make of this entire situation?
