Francis Ngannou, the former heavyweight champion of the UFC, has finally ended his time as a free agent. Today, Ngannou announced that he will be joining the PFL promotion after months of speculation from fight fans.
According to reports, Ngannou successfully got everything he wanted in his contract with PFL which involved “equity and leadership” in the promotion. On top of it, the ‘Predator’, will also be appointed as the chairman of the new PFL Africa division.

Ngannou will be making his PFL MMA debut next year at the super-fight PPV division. Followed by his much anticipated boxing match that will take place this year, which might be against Deontay Wilder.
Ngannou’s new deal comes with a lot of freedom for the fighter which he didn’t get in UFC. When it comes to Francis Ngannou’s salary, according to Aron Bronsteter, the PFL is willing to offer a $2 million minimum purse for each fight to the fighter.
Ngannou is one of the biggest MMA superstars in the world and it will definitely help PFL to bring in new viewers. That will ultimately decide the pay-per-view share of Francis in future fights.
After the announcement, the Cameroonian-French posted a video on his YouTube channel revealing that he made the decision to move to PFL after a lot of consideration. According to the fighter, this is the best move with respect to his career, family and business.
He said: “This decision with PFL wasn’t done overnight, believe me, it was a thoughtful process to get here…some of you might disagree that this is a great decision and I get it, it’s okay, but for me, my friends, my family and for Africa, this is the best decision that I will ever take for my career, for my business and for everything.”

Francis Ngannou joined UFC back in 2015 and went undefeated for six consecutive fights. According to theSportsdaily, Initially, Francis Ngannou’s salary against Anthony Hamilton in which the fighter earned $124,500. At UFC 220, Ngannou lost against Stipe Miocic in a UFC heavyweight match-up but took home a total of $530,000.
