Francis Ngannou put the UFC on blast during his title defense at UFC 270. The heavyweight champion of the world revealed that he was disrespected and was treated unfairly by the promotion despite his championship status. While we all thought that his fight against Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 was the last time we were going to see “The Predator” inside the UFC octagon, Dana White gives the fans a sliver of hope.

In a recent interview with ESPN MMA, promoting the upcoming grudge fight of Colby Covington vs Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272, Dana White says that he is confident about the company coming to an agreement with Ngannou in the near future. “He’s been in Cameroon visiting his family. He is supposed to get back here in the next couple of weeks and we are supposed to get together,” said White.

Ngannou underwent knee surgery after the fight, and he’s out of action for 9 months. The UFC is moving ahead with the heavyweight division without him, and Ngannou made it very clear that he would not compete in the UFC if he doesn’t get paid fairly.

Georges St-Pierre recently appeared in an interview with Ariel Helwani from The MMA Hour, and he talked about Ngannou’s situation, he said, “I’m telling him as a friend that he needs to get paid to his value. And if he’s not satisfied with what the UFC gives him, then go seek, go get your service somewhere else where they’re going to pay you well because he’s not young and he’s coming to that point.”

“He’s a heavyweight and you never know what can happen,” St-Pierre continued. “One punch can change the fight. It’s very rare to see a heavyweight stay champion for a long time because of that reason. So he needs to get paid. He needs to go somewhere where he’s going to be paid what he’s worth. If the UFC is not ready to do that, now he has the power on the side and he can negotiate because of his contract. I believe he’s in a very good position right now.”
