Ahead of the rumored fight against Gilbert Burns, Khamzat Chimaev shares his ambitions in UFC. The name Khamzat Chimaev from the welterweight division is not unheard of for many UFC fans. The undefeated Russian has gained immense popularity in a very short time. Throughout his UFC record, the ‘Borz’ has defeated fighters like Gerald Meerschaert and Li Jingliang with ease. The outgoing persona’s love for fighting Chimaev helped him to attract the audience. After defeating Jingliang, Chimaev called out every fighter in the division to fight him but nobody answered.
Recently there seems to have been some progress regarding the matter as UFC teased an upcoming bout between Burns and Chimaev. It all started when Chimaev called out Burns to fight in his home, Brazil. Burns responded to this by asking Dana White to make this fight. While there have been no official announcements made, the fight will most probably take place in the first half of 2022.
Khamzat Chimaev’s plans for his future in the UFC
In his new YouTube channel, Chimaev shared his first training and daily life vlog. In the vlog, the fighter showed the viewers the place where he comes from when he is feeling stressed. Chimaev revealed that the times are hard. He goes there and thinks about his future and what he is going to do in his career. The Russian shared what he is going to achieve on a personal level and what are things he is going to buy from the money. “Think about the UFC. When I am gonna get an apartment? When am I gonna get a car?. Thinking about the good life,” said Chimaev.
The Russian explained that currently he is focused on training and working hard. The main target is to get the welterweight title and prove to the world his capability. After that, he and his brothers can enjoy life by buying things from the hard-earned money. “Now we work for that, still working. Soon, I will get an apartment. We will fix one thing, now we have a car also. Soon we have to take this belt. This is the most important, how to take the belt. Then, Fix good life for my brothers,” said Chimaev.
Khamzat Chimaev’s fans know how brutal a fighter he is, he is someone who dominates everyone who gets into the octagon with him. In press conferences, the fighter has always shared his opinions regarding his upcoming challenges. This was the first time the fighter opened up about his personal life and how he wants to change things around him.
