“Got a few offers already”- Israel Adesanya details how he almost featured in a major Marvel movie

Israel Adesanya-MARVEL

UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya is a star for the fight game, and perhaps could be the star amongst the Earth’s mightiest heroes as well soon. Adesanya was last seen headlining UFC 271 against his arch-nemesis Robert Whittaker who he knocked out back in 2019 but won over the latter once again in the rematch, this time though, via decision. However, Adesanya has the next challenge waiting right away in Jared Cannonier who fought and knocked out Derek Brunson in the undercard of UFC 271.

Adesanya is currently 12-0 as a middleweight and his one loss comes only as at light-heavyweight when he couldn’t succeed in getting a second UFC belt against the then champion Jan Blachowicz. However, one shouldn’t be surprised if Adesanya goes back to try that again anytime soon. Adesanya is regardless, a happy man defending his only title at the middleweight, this happiness also comes from him being one of the top paid athletes in the UFC, all thanks to his new deal that started off right after his second Whittaker fight, thanks to his management, Paradigm Sports Agency.

Adesanya recently came to comedians Andrew Schulz and Aakash Singh’s podcast Flagrant 2 to talk about his UFC 271 fight, his life in general as a fighter and what’s up with having nearly been finalised to feature in a Marvel movie one time in the past.

“I already got a few major offers already,” says Adesanya replying to getting movie offers whilst living in Los Angeles or Las Vegas “But we didn’t have an 0-1 Visa, this is last year, this is a major Marvel movie, got offer to jump in at, speaking royal fighting role… but then I wouldn’t have the 0-1 Visa and I think to get, it was delayed a little bit and for Marvel to delay the shooting by even days is like 160k [dollars],” he concludes.

What do you make of Adesanya receiving an offer from the Marvel industry? The Marvel Universe, a fictional universe of various superheroes, is one of the greatest contributions in the history of human arts and imagination done by the legendary comic book writer, late great Stan Lee. The Marvel Cinematic Universe however bring the comic book stripes on the screens in the form of series and movies. How do you think Adesanya will do playing the role of a fictional character? What do you think is next for Adesanya in his MMA career?
