“He can still f**king hit,” Michael Bisping does not rule out Conor McGregor beating Charles Oliveira and becoming UFC champion again
Michael Bisping- Conor McGregor
UFC megastar Conor McGregor is still one of the best fighters out there for his fan base and UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping might be on board with it with another bold possibility. McGregor, who’s on his road to come back to be able to fight again after a brutal injury, a shin fracture caused in his last fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021, has nearly completed his recovery process and might train as soon as possible.
If everything sails smoothly now, McGregor might return in early fall as per UFC President Dana White. McGregor, to his credits, is the first-ever Irish mixed martial artist to become a UFC champion and the first fighter in UFC history to hold two belts simultaneously i.e. at featherweight and lightweight. McGregor is 22-6 in his overall MMA career with 19 of those 22 wins coming via knockouts. Dustin Poirier in 2021 became the first person to knock McGregor out in the latter’s professional MMA career.
Michael Bisping believes Conor McGregor’s power and speed is still intact with the latter
On UFC colour commentator Joe Rogan‘s podcast, former UFC middleweight champion and UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping thinks that if the fight between McGregor and current UFC Lightweight Champion Charles Oliveira happens- who by the wat finished Dustin Poirier via submission in his last fight at UFC 269– then there are chances of McGregor finishing Oliveira, in his own vicious ways of striking.
“Charles is hittable and Conor can still f**ing hit,” says Bisping “He’s fast and Charles is hittable… I’m just saying, there’s a potential that Conor comes back, beat Charles Oliveira and becomes champion again… But it might happen. He’s still got that left hand, he’s still got that power and speed.”
What do you make of Bisping’s assessment that Conor McGregor’s best days aren’t over yet, do you agree with him? Do you think it’s reasonable for McGregor to fight straight for the title on his return, or should he get in line after those who have fought their way through the rankings to be next for the title shot? Who do you think McGregor should fight next and who do you think wins between him and Oliveira if the fight ever happens?
