“He is not ready to die”- Khamzat Chimaev doubles down on beating Israel Adesanya after support from Henry Cejudo
Khamzat Chinmaev-Israel Adesanya
UFC Welterweight Khamzat Chimaev may step back to middleweight in near future, and he has some backing to go this way. MMA Legends like Chael Sonnen and Henry Cejudo already feel that the 185-lbs division suits “Borz” the most. Cejudo has gone to such an extent that he already believes Chimaev is the biggest threat to UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya. Adesanya recently defended his title for the fourth time when he defeated the preceding middleweight champion Robert Whittaker in a rematch at UFC 271.
Chimaev, who’s 10-0 and is on a four-fight winning streak in the UFC last fought at UFC 267 against Li Jingliang when he returned to the Octagon after a year and submitted the latter within the first round. Chimaev is put to works by the UFC to fight #2 ranked welterweight Gilbert Burns. While Chimaev is #11 in the welterweight rankings, he was challenged by higher-ranked opponents already such as the likes of Belal Muhammad, Neil Magny and Geoff Neal, but Chimaev knew his potential was to fight a much tougher opponent in Burns.
Henry Cejudo has full faith on Khamzat Chimaev’s capabilities
Recently, former UFC double champion and Olympic champion Henry Cejudo recently took to Twitter to speak his heart out and made a daring claim saying “I don’t even gamble, but if I was a betting man, @KChimaev is the man that will stop Israel Adesanya. If @stylebender could beat him I will shut up, I will apologize. But if that fight ever happens, I got Khamzat. He’s a whole other animal.”
Chimaev reacted to Cejudo’s tweet and said “He is not ready to die brother”
What do you make of Chimaev’s subtle assumption that Adesanya doesn’t want to fight him? UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman rules the division where Chimaev fights as of now, do you think Chimaev should go for him? How do you think Chimaev will match up against Adesanya and Chimaev respectively?
