Francis Ngannou talks about Ciryl Gane in UFC 270 fight
Francis Ngannou has gone through an absolute roller coaster the last few weeks at UFC 270. The heavyweight champion made his first title defense against Ciryl Gane and was successful.
UFC 270 featured one of the biggest heavyweight fights in history. The world’s baddest man Francis Ngannou took on his former teammate, Ciryl Gane in an intense five-round fight. A fight that many would have guessed wouldn’t turn out in Francis’ favor if it exceeds two rounds, went on to shock everyone the way it played out.
Ngannou, not only defended his title but also outclassed Gane, who was deemed as the most skilled heavyweight. Francis made a recent appearance on The MMA Hour hosted by Ariel Helwani. The fighter talks about how he turned the odds around in his favor halfway through the fight.

“This guy is done,” said Francis Ngannou looking at Ciryl Gane during the fight
Francis not only had to face a fighter that was more mobile and had more cardio than him, but he also went into the fight with a serious injury on his knee. Ngannou lost the first two rounds of the fight which is known to be the rounds he is best. The fighter however stunned the whole world with the last three rounds. Francis paints an amazing picture of what happened in the third round.
“By the end of the third round, I looked at him, I saw me when I fought Stipe the first time. I was like this guy is gone,” said Francis. Ngannou lost to the former champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 220 before he avenged his loss to become the champion at UFC 260, three years later. The loss against Miocic was one of the most devastating defeats in Francis’ career.
“That was the moment I knew I won the fight, the third round. He was broken. I look him in the eye and was like this is a done deal. He wasn’t even responding to his coaches and I was able to listen to them,” said Ngannou in his interview. Would you consider this to be the biggest win in Francis’s career?
