“He was never in an exciting fight,” Paddy Pimblett blasts Khabib Nurmagomedov after win at UFC London
Paddy Pimblett takes a dig at Khabib Nurmagomedov
Paddy Pimblett absolutely blew the roof off the O2 Arena in UFC London, last night. There is no denying that the fighter has made sure to entertain his fans. However, after the fight, Paddy took a dig at UFC Hall of Famer, Khabib Nurmagomedov.
After the breakout of the pandemic, UFC took their promotion to the UK to host UFC Fight Night 204. The card was headlined by the amazing Tom Aspinall and Alexander Volkov but it is fair to say that Paddy Pimblett absolutely stole the show with his performance. From the walkout to submission win, and an ecstatic post-fight interview, Paddy was the complete entertainment package.
Pimblett took on Rodrigo Vargas in the main card and won the fight via submission in the first round. The MMA community all over the world has been showering Pimblett with love for his performance. Paddy, in the post-fight interview with ESPN MMA, took a dig at Khabib Nurmagomedov, saying despite his tremendous career, the Dagestani was never in a fight as exciting as the Scouser.
“He might be 29-0” Paddy Pimblett downplays Khabib Nurmagomedov’s achievements
Talking to ESPN MMA, “That’s another performance of the night. I’m never in a boring fight, that’s something that you can’t say about me,” said Paddy The Baddy. Last night’s win at the O2 Arena was Paddy’s second first-round finish in the UFC and he has been in only two fights in the promotion.
Khabib is undoubtedly one of the greatest to ever do it. Earlier this month, at UFC 272, Khabib was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame for his dominant career. The Dagestani has a record of 29-0 and was never in any real danger in his fights, making him one of the most dominant fighters to ever do the sport. However, Paddy is not all sold out on that.
“Khabib might have went 29-0 but he was never in an exciting fight like that, end of,” said Paddy in his post-fight interview. What do you make of Pimblett’s comments? Watch the full interview below:
