Chandler is one of the most vicious fighters in the octagon. The former Bellator champion has been known for his knockout power his entire career and Chandler believes that is exactly what Ferguson would find tough when fighting him. “I think my power is going to be a lot for him. I think I’m going to have a speed advantage and an athleticism advantage. I think I’m good in all that areas that Tony is good at,” said Michael in the interview.
Chandler acknowledges that Ferguson has a good ground game but Chandler is also confident in his own skills to keep up with El Cucuy’s Jiu-jitsu. “I think he’s got very slick jiu-jitsu. I have yet to ever be caught in a submission so I don’t see him catching me in anything like that,” said Chandler.
“But he is very dangerous on the ground. I think his biggest attribute, strength, and the thing that people fear the most is he’s got a little bit of a screw loose,” Chandler. “Iron” Mike is on a two-fight losing skid, coming off a “Fight Of The Year” scrap against Justin Gaethje at UFC 268. While Ferguson has not registered a win inside the octagon since 2019.
