Joe Rogan- Donald Trump

UFC colour commentator, podcast kingpin and comedian Joe Rogan has another pillar of support taking his side in all the controversy that surrounds him for his alleged racist remarks, and though it’s out of the MMA community, it might be the biggest one to take Rogan’s back in his tough times. Rogan first came under contentious light when he was accused of spreading misinformation on the validity of the Covid-19 vaccines through his much-acclaimed podcast The Joe Rogan Experience.

Later on, Rogan was starting to be accused of being a racist as well, courtesy of his use of the N-word more than a decade ago on his podcast. For those who saw the clip, there were divided opinions on whether the use then was morally ethical or not. But to put out the clip now from a decade-old podcast was something ridiculous as agreed by a majority of people and nearly all of the MMA community. Some of the most popular personas to support Rogan were Israel Adesanya, Colby Covington, and many more.

Everybody is called a racist today, says Trump “Anybody that’s the enemy of the other side, people that are the exact opposite of the racists are called racists and it’s a very hurtful word but it’s lost a lot of its meaning… They [the politically radically left] call Rogan, they call anybody they disagree with a ‘racist’ so it tends to lose its meaning. And the people get it, you know, Joe Rogan’s not a racist and he’s a very interesting guy that people like listening to. But they’ve been hitting him very hard, I did tell him one thing- stop apologizing.”

What do you make of Trump’s take on the word “racist”? What do you make of his take on the whole Joe Rogan situation? The UFC decided to bring back Rogan to the commentary table irrespective of the controversy, and it seemed a good decision considering the reaction from the fans said it all at UFC 272. Perhaps, bringing a decade-old incident back to a lively discussion is indeed futile.
