Robert Whittaker might be one of the nicest guys in the UFC to the fans but not to his rival Israel Adesanya. The Last Stylebender is not buying into the “nice guy” persona of the former champion and truly believes Whittaker has an ego.

Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker will be facing each other in a much-anticipated rematch at UFC 271. The two middleweight stars will be lighting up the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas this weekend. Whittaker is very determined to reclaim his title as the middleweight champion after losing to Adesanya at UFC 243.

Izzy sits down for an interview for his YouTube channel to give his fans an unfiltered opinion on what he thinks about his rival Whittaker. Robby is known to be one of the nicest fighters in the UFC roster but however, his relationship with Izzy is not exactly “nice”. Adesanya believes that Whittaker’s persona is a facade and the former champion has a very big ego that won’t let him respect Adesanya.

“I saw a little snippet of what he was saying, it is like he finds it hard to swallow. It is a hard pill to swallow. He is admitting it, he is saying the right things, but he is not believing it,” said Israel on Whittaker whenever has to acknowledge his defeat to the Nigerian. “His ego still won’t let him. And that’s his downfall.”

Adesanya also slams the critics who say that he is very egoistic while Robert is humble. “People try to say that about me. ‘He is too egoistic. He is not humble like Whittaker.’ I’m like bro Stop. I am extraordinarily humble,” says Adesanya. “I know my limits as a human being and I know my capabilities. I know I’m the shit and I also know I ain’t shit.”

“He needs to check himself. So he has got this newfound mental clarity that would help him positively if it was true. But I don’t buy it,” said Adesanya. Do you think Whittaker’s ego will get in the way of his success against Adesanya?
