There was no better way to come back from a controversial fight than tonight’s performance for Kyle Daukaus. The middleweight fighter fought at catchweight against Jamie Pickett in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 48 and scored a bonus-winning submission win in the very first round.

The fighter displayed complete dominance over Jamie in the first round and got the submission in the final second before the bell. Daukaus after the win called out Tony Ferguson, the former interim lightweight champion, claiming his nickname, ‘The D’Arce Knight’. Daukaus declared that will be his new nickname in the post-fight interview with Paul Felder. Later in the post-fight press conference, he explained the reason behind it.

“I want to call out Tony Ferguson! I have more D’Arce chokes so I’m going to go for the D’Arce knight!” said Kyle talking to Felder in the octagon. “My new nickname is D’Arce knight!”

“I’m a big fan of batman. I’m a huge batman fan. I’ve watched all the movies since I was a kid. My family, my friends, the people at the gym all know I like batman. They call me the D’Arce Knight. My buddy told me I should push for it. So I told myself the first D’Arce choke I get I will call it out. It was a little cringe-worthy of a call out, hope it works,” said Kyle.

Kyle is now 11-2 in his professional career and is now looking to get ranked as a fighter. The Daukaus brother recently fought a controversial draw against fan-favorite Kevin Holland in October 2021 where he accidentally knocked him causing the decision of a win to be overturned. Daukaus was looking to fight Holland but the “Trailblazer” now has plans of fighting in the welterweight division.
