Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz

Jorge Masvidal remembers nearly killing Nate Diaz in the first encounter they had in 2019.

Diaz and Masvidal faced each other at UFC 244 inside Madison Square Garden, NYC. It turned out to be the greatest event of that year. The fight was unique as UFC introduced the ‘Baddest Motherf*****'( BMF) title for the winner of the bout.

Both the fighters had some heated verbal exchanges before the fight and inside the octagon, it was a war. Masvidal efficiently punished Diaz from the beginning of the fight and continued it for the rest.

Whenever the Stockholm native tried to push forward, Masvidal was countering it with impressive striking. As the fight went on, due to some nasty hits from Masvidal, Diaz suffered a severe cut around his eye. Even though it didn’t affect his visibility as the fighter suggested, the doctor called out the fight to stop immediately. Fans in the arena were unhappy for experiencing an unfortunate ending to a great fight.

Masvidal recently did a live interview with Rumble where he answered some questions. During the interview, Masvidal shared his opinions regarding the rematch with Diaz in the future.

‘The Gamebred’ revealed that he beat Diaz very badly the first time they met and it was very brutal. Masvidal expressed that when he saw Diaz’s last fight with Leon Edwards he thought he could easily beat him again. According to Masvidal, Diaz always starts throwing random shades on him online, and sometimes he has to reply to them.

“I almost damn near killed him, I beat him an inch within his f***** skinny life. You saw his last fight with Leon. I was like man, they make that mistake and put this guy in there with me again, you know? He’s not trying to fight. That little fucking broomstick keeps talking, you’re going to have to go at some point, you know,” said Jorge Masvidal.

Currently, Masvidal is busy in his training camp for his fight against Colby Covington at UFC 272. The fight has got a lot of fans excited as the grudge between both the fighters is real and very entertaining.
