“I believe he’s already worrying”- Alex Pereira opines he struck fear in Israel Adesanya’s heart after UFC deal
Israel Adesanya & Alex Pereira
Kickboxing legend Alex Pereira believes he is truly middleweight champion Israel Adesanya’s kryptonite. The new UFC middleweight believes he already has his former rival’s attention.
Israel Adesanya is one of the most dominant fighters in the world. The fighter has never been defeated in his career as a UFC middleweight. The fighter also holds another significant record of only being finished once in a professional fight and UFC middleweight Alex Pereira can take pride in saying that he was the only one who could knockout Adesanya.
Pereira managed to get the better of Adesanya in their time as kickboxing rivals. Now the Brazilian has made his way to the UFC looking to repeat history. The fighter is 5-1 in his MMA career and has one fight in the UFC. His debut fight was truly a statement as he knocked out his opponent with a flying knee at UFC 268 in the Madison Square Garden. Alex believes Israel is already afraid of the Brazilian’s presence in the UFC.
“He knows my potential” Alex Pereira visions himself as a worthy opponent for Israel Adesanya
“Honestly the moment that he found out I signed here I believe he has already been worrying,” said Alex via his translator at the pre-fight press conference of UFC Vegas 50. “He knows of my potential and he knows how far I can get.” Pereira is a kickboxing champion and has knocked out Adesanya at GLORY Kickboxing.
Periera is scheduled to take on Bruno Silva in the main card of UFC Vegas 50. The fighter will look to win in style and manage to get himself matched up with a top contender in the middleweight division. Israel has also stated that he is looking for some new blood in the 185-lb division.
The champ is lapping around the middleweight roster and a fight against his former rival, “kryptonite”, Pereira would certainly create the hype required for a blockbuster PPV fight. Do you think Pereira is championship quality in the UFC?
