Marvin Vettori ridicules Paulo Costa by denouncing his power. The rivalry between Vettori and Costa seems to emerge for the second time. Costa has only one fight remaining in his UFC contract and he wants to take on former opponent Vettori again. In a recent interview with Ag. Fight, the Brazilian revealed that he is not looking forward to fighting anybody else except Vettori.
The fighter explained that if he has no chance of getting a title shot then he only wants to fight Vettori. “I’ll fight him now. It’s the only fight that interests me. No one else interests me. Unless it’s for the title, but I’m no fool. I’m not stupid to consider now. I want to fight him. He’s the only viable guy that interests me. If it’s not him, I’m not even interested in fighting. I let Dana White know that,” said Costa.
Marvin Vettori responded to Paulo Costa’s call-out
After Costa confirmed his intentions of fighting Vettori in his next fight, the Italian finally broke his silence regarding the call-out.
Vettori posted a tweet on his official account which cleared his thoughts on Costa. The fighter criticized Costa for not making the weight the last time they fought and also made fun of his striking power by comparing him with Felicia Spencer. Vettori explained that according to him, Spencer hits way harder than Costa. “You was in the cage with me 30 pounds heavier and for real I know a bitch her name Felicia she hits harder than you @danawhite,” wrote Vettori on Twitter.
With such a reaction from Vettori, it’s hard to tell whether he will be taking the fight or not. But the logical choice for the fighter would be ignoring Costa as it will not take him any closer to his ultimate goal which is the middleweight title. It would be better for ‘The Italian Dream’ to wait and try fighting the winner of Israel Adesanya vs Robert Whittaker 2 if possible. That would be a fight the fans will love to watch.
