“I want some big fights,” from Conor McGregor to Nate Diaz, Michael Chandler reveals his wishlist of fights for 2022

Conor McGregor- Michael Chandler- Nate Diaz
UFC Lightweight Michael Chandler is looking forward to 2022 with higher hopes of bigger fights just like last year. Chandler has been on a roll with a knockout debut, a title match, and a fight of the year. The former Bellator Lightweight champion was signed to UFC in the late 2020s and within a month of signing, was training for backing up the main event of UFC 254 headlined by then lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje, luckily Chandler wasn’t needed and the fight happened.

However, Chandler has become a fan-favourite to watch within a span of just 3 fights he had in 2021, and the fans can’t wait to get back inside the Octagon. As of now, he is healing from the injuries he got from his fight of the year candidate against Justin Gaethje at UFC 268. However, Chandler’s list too is long on who he wants to fight.
Michael Chandler wants the fights that can make fans definitely want to watch him

Chandler came out to MMA Fighting‘s MMA Hour at Ariel Helwani to talk to Helwani about all the possible fights he would love to have in 2022. The following was his supposed wishlist.
“There’s a couple of guys that make a lot of sense, Conor [McGregor] makes a lot of sense. The timeline works out well, he is coming back around the time that I want to come back… he makes sense, Tony Ferguson makes sense, Dustin Poirier makes sense, Nathan [Nate] Diaz makes sense… There’s a couple of guys ranked ahead of me, you got [Islam] Makahchev, you got [Beneil] Dariush… you got Gaethje who thinks he’s fighting Oliveira next,” said Chandler.
“I want some big fights, some exciting fights that fans are gonna buy the pay-per-view for or travel to go to or sit to or put their butts on their seats in some arena somewhere, either way, the lightweight division is still the most exciting division on this planet and in this promotion, so I am excited about the opportunities,” he concluded.
What do you make of Chandler’s list of fights he sees for himself this year? How many names do you think Chandler gets done by the end of this year? While kudos to Ferguson for calling in Chandler for a fight, do you think Chandler should chase his fights for sealing title shot or getting money?
