The book targets a smaller demographic of women informally called ‘Gold Diggers.’ Through the book, Anna-Lee guides aspiring ‘WAGs’ to pursue and get the life they hoped for by creating a relationship with a very rich athlete. During its publication, Anna-Lee was covering English Premier League content. Therefore, the book targeted women who wanted to become ‘WAGs’ of top footballers in England.

The book gives instructions related to diet, makeup, party lifestyle, and paparazzi engagement. The author provides in detail what diet to follow, what makeup to wear, how to party, and how to engage with paparazzi in the book. It aims to attract top footballers from the English Premier League at the time.

In 2012, Fernando Torres was a big name as a striker for Liverpool FC. He was single at the time, and he was a primary target in the book. The book promises women to be like Coleen Rooney, Cheryl Cole, and Victoria Beckham. All the aforementioned women married rich footballers Wayne Rooney, Ashley Cole, and David Beckham. Nevertheless, the book did not gain success at the time of publication. However, it found notoriety 12 years later.

However, once the book gained traction as a controversial book, Layla went on Instagram to reveal the intention of the book. This is what she said:

Anyone who takes it as fact has completely missed the mark. Sarcasm isn't well taken, especially with the American audiences. British humor and British sarcasm is often lost. At the time, it was a huge success, and people got the joke.
