Ahead of his rematch against Vincent Luque, Belal Muhammad believes that the result will be different this time.
The welterweight division can simply be one of the most engaging divisions in the UFC roster. The weight class is filled with absolute killers who are very competitive. One of the upcoming welterweight bouts is the rematch between Muhammad and Luque that will take place at UFC Fight Night on April 16. The pair last fought against each other at UFC 205 in the year 2016. In the fight, Luque caught Muhammad with a brutal punch in the first round and won the fight via KO.
Belal Muhammad predicts his future in the UFC
Now that the rematch between Muhammad and Luque has been der, Muhammad shared a message for his fans as well as haters.
In a recent tweet on his official account, the American reminded MMA fans that their hate has no sense because he has lost only once in his last ten bouts and he is eligible for this rematch against Luque. The fighter revealed that the intention behind this match-up has nothing to do with personal grudges or retribution.
According to Muhammad, both he and Luque have evolved a lot since the last fight and this time things will be different. Muhammad expressed this is just the beginning and he will be the welterweight champion before the end of 2022.
“10-1 since the last fight… I earned the rematch doubt me all you want this fight isn’t personal for me it’s not about revenge I’m a different fighter he’s a different fighter this is a new fight there will be a new result and by the end of the year I’ll be the new champ,” wrote Muhammad on his Twitter.
Muhammad is currently #5 in the welterweight rankings and is coming off a win against the wonderboy Thompson. If he manages to win against Luque then he might get the opportunity to fight against the top 3. If everything pans out perfectly then the fighter could face Colby Covington, Jorge Masvidal, or Leon Edwards next. But winning the welterweight championship by the end of the year might be a little bit of a stretch for Muhammad.
