“I’m hopeful and confident” Dana White offers an update on Francis Ngannou’s contract situation

Dana White and Francis Ngannou
The UFC is confident that they will get the Francis Nagnnou contract situation under control as per the company’s president Dana White. The UFC boss gives an update about the relationship between the two parties.
Francis Nganonu put the UFC on blast during his title defense at UFC 270. The heavyweight champion of the world revealed that he was disrespected and was treated unfairly by the promotion despite his championship status. While we all thought that his fight against Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 was the last time we were going to see “The Predator” inside the UFC octagon, Dana White gives the fans a sliver of hope.
In a recent interview with ESPN MMA, promoting the upcoming grudge fight of Colby Covington vs Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272, Dana says that he is confident about the company coming to an agreement with Ngannou in the near future. “He’s been in Cameroon visiting his family. He is supposed to get back here in the next couple of weeks and we are supposed to get together,” said White.
“We can get a deal done,” Dana White on his next meeting with the heavyweight champion

Ngannou was on the last fight of his contract before defending his title against Ciryl Gane at the beginning of 2022. Ngannou was very clear that he will move out of the UFC if he does not get things done on fair terms. The heavyweight champ was also in talks with the boxing heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury. However, it looks like we might see more of Ngannou in the UFC octagon.
“Listen in the history of the company, the only guy we have ever not signed is Fedor. He was the only guy we could never sign. So I’m hopeful and confident that we can get a deal done with Francis,” said Dana. The UFC boss does not worry too much about the timeframe at which the company and Ngannou get a deal done though. “As long as we can get it done,” said White.
Francis Ngannou has been a part of the UFC since 2015 and rose to the top of the food chain in a very short time. The fighter has given the fans some of the deadliest knockouts ever and it is no surprise that the UFC will miss having Ngannou if they flop the deal.
