Is Justin Gaethje going to fall victim to Drake’s curse at UFC 274?

Is Justin Gaethje going to fall victim to Drake’s curse at UFC 274?

Drake has placed a massive $400k bet on Justin Gaethje after losing almost $300k betting on Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272

Drake is known for his gambling habits especially when it comes to sports. The rapper likes to try his luck by betting outrageous amounts of money on players, fighters and teams. Earlier this year he even made headlines after the news broke out, placing bets on Jorge Masvidal vs Colby Covington. Drake bet $275,000 on the fight, hoping the ‘ Gamebred’ will defeat Covington.

But Masvidal’s performance was extremely poor and he struggled to make any impact in the fight. Covington on the other hand manhandled Masvidal and kept him check by wrestling. After five rounds, ‘ The Chaos’ was declared the winner via unanimous decision. It resulted in Graham losing a lot of money that he gambled.

After hearing about it, Masvidal took to Twitter to confirm that he will make it up to Graham the next time they meet. He wrote

Next time you in Miami dinner on me @Drake.”

The Rapper recently posted a series of pictures on his official Instagram account. The pictures included a screenshot of him betting on Justin Gaethje.

In the picture it is clearly visible that the rapper had bet a whopping 500k on Gaethje which is massive. In the caption he wrote ” Big Weeknd Energy.” Which absolutely makes sense.

The Canadian rapper is known for taking risks on his bets and placing money on Gaethje is a risk but the returns will be much higher. It might be a classic case of high risk, high return. But, the fact that Drake is also considered as one of the most unluckiest supporter is also not wrong.

Football club AC Roma banned his players from getting any pictures with him in the year 2019, for the same reason. Even though it is hilarious, it is true that most of the times he has supported a team, fighter or a player they have lost. Similarly when he supported Conor McGregor at UFC 229, the Notorious lost against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Between Gaethje and Oliveira, the ‘ Highlight’ does seem like the underdog. It has nothing to do with his performance but it’s just that it will take a lot for him to beat the Brazilian. Oliveira has been undefeated in last 10 fights and is currently a force of nature inside the octagon. It will be interesting to see if the rapper is going to make a lot or lose it all.

The Canadian will be cheering for the Arizona native to win and become the new lightweight champion. If that doesn’t go the right way, Gaethje might have to take him for a expensive dinner.
