“Guess who pulled out most”- Islam Makhachev ridicules Rafael Dos Anjos for ducking fights against him

Rafael Dos Anjos on Islam Makhachev

The feud started when in February, Rafael Fiziev, due to an injury, failed to fight dos Anjos and the fight was cancelled. While UFC was looking for a substitute, Makhachev stepped in and asked to fight dos Anjos. But the fight didn’t happen and finally Renato Moicano was declared the new opponent against dos Anjos.

After that incident, dos Anjos started thrashing Makhachev on social media for ducking the fight. He also suggested that the degestani doesn’t deserve the title shot just yet. During an interview with the ‘MMA HOUR’ the fighter revealed that Makhachev’s ten fight win streak doesn’t mean anything as he has not fought anybody tough.

” I don’t think, to be honest with you. He’s got a 10 win streak, but look at his résumé. He didn’t fight any top guys, any top contenders. He was supposed to fight Benny but unfortunately Benny got injured. So I don’t think so.”

Many fight fans online also criticised Makhachev for acting all tough and asking for the fight only to suck it again.

Makhachev recently took to Twitter in order to show his fight list and how the fights have turned out in the past.

In the picture it can be seen that out of the last five bouts that got cancelled Rafael dos Anjos has pulled out three times. In the captions the fighter mocked dos Anjos for his claims. “And here’s the list of my top 5 opponents ., guess who pulled out most? ? ,” wrote Makhachev.

This altercation between dos Anjos and Makhachev has gone to a great extent and both are not willing to back out. dos Anjos is currently on his second title run and is on a two fight win streak. The Brazilian has cleared his mind that he would like to continue winning and get the title shot. Similarly, Makhachev is already a top contender for the title shot and might get his chance this year.
