“Begging for a fight with Conor”- Islam Makhachev slams Charles Oliveira for dismissing his claim to a title shot

Charles Oliveira vs Islam Makhachev
Islam Makhachev has been in the lightweight title contender challenge for a long time now. The fighter is currently on an impressive ten fight win streak and has absolutely dominated everybody inside the octagon. The only thing that still keeps him from getting the title shot is the lack of ranked fighters Makhachev has faced. But that’s something he has control over as most of the top fighters have always ducked him.
In a recent interview with the Brazilian sports channel ‘Brazilian MMA Legends’ spoke about Makhachev’s chances for a title shot. He said :
“He’s been asking a lot for this title fight, but I think that, you know, I think he needs to face a guy who is at the top, a top 5, right? To be able to have a title shot. That’s 10 wins in a row, but he’s never fought ranked or top guys. So for sure he needs to do one or two more fights so we can make it happen.”

Islam Makhachev points out Charles Oliveira’s Hypocrisy
Islam Makhachev recently took to Twitter to throw shade toward lightweight champion Oliveira. The Dagestani explained that Oliveira called him undeserving for the title shot. But on the other hand, the Brazilian has been wanting to fight Conor McGregor for a long time. Makhachev revealed this doesn’t make any sense as McGregor hasn’t won a single fight since 2015. ” So Oliveira says I’m not deserved fight for a title, indeed he’s begging for a fight with Conor who hasn’t win a fight since 2015 lol,” wrote Makhachev.
Islam does have a point that as according to recent records, he is more deserving than Mcgregor for the lightweight title fight. But at the same time, it is well known how much of a draw McGregor is. The Irishman brings the best UFC Pay-per-views and everybody wants to fight him for the big fight purse. It’s no harm for Oliveira to pursue a little more money after already proving that he can defend his title anytime with anyone.
But now it’s hard to consider that the ‘ Mystic Mac‘ will ever fight in the lightweight division due to his recent bulk. On the other hand, Makhachev is the fighter who is catching up to Oliveira and will be fighting for the belt in future.
