Khamzat Chimaev is not stressing about being robbed of a title shot after Irish superstar Conor McGregor has revealed that he would like to fight for the welterweight belt on his return.

Khamzat Chimaev is undoubtedly one of the best fighters in the welterweight division and has become a real spectacle around the world after his recent performances in the UFC octagon. The fighter is scheduled to fight against former welterweight title contender Gilbert Burns at UFC 273 and is looking to secure a title shot after that fight.

Despite several fighters rising up the charts, there is one draw that no one can avoid. Conor McGregor is the biggest star the sport has ever witnessed and a fight against him is really hard to turn down solely because of the money that it brings. After his recent revelation that he would like to take on Kamaru Usman, Khamzat will not be surprised if Conor gets the title shot before he does.

“If he wanna fight Usman, I think it maybe can happen because the guy is so famous,” said Chimaev in his recent YouTube video. “When I finish Gilbert Burns, I think I am the next for title. But this is the business: Who’s the famous, makes more money, they choose them. I understand that.”

Khamzat is currently 10-0 in his professional MMA career and has fought in the UFC only 4 times. What makes Chimaev special is that he has finished all the opponents he faced inside the octagon. His most recent victory comes against Li Jingliang at UFC 267 when he submitted the veteran in the very first round in Abu Dhabi.

Conor on the other hand is looking to make his return this fall after his gruesome injury at UFC 264 against his foe, Dustin Poirier. McGregor has one win since 2016, against Donald Cerrone. The numbers don’t matter purely because of how big of a name Conor McGregor is. Do you think the Notorious One deserves a fight against Kamaru Usman on his return?
