“It hurts”- Colby Covington actually feels bad about how things turned out between him and Jorge Masvidal

Jorge Masvidal-Colby Covington
UFC 272 fight week is here and Colby Covington is on to revealing and firing more shots and narratives over his former best friend, but now his main event opponent and bitter rival, Jorge Masvidal. For both Masvidal and Covington, they were somewhat clicked by each other’s temperament based on a notion that opposites attract and not only that. While Masvidal would be instrumental to help Covington in his striking, Covington would return back the favour with his knowledge in grappling.

You ask both of them what happened, both the fighters who started off from an ordinary background together to part ways towards their own stardom respectively, have sides of stories that changed their relationship altogether but, also try to convince the audience, why they are right over their opposition. This fight couldn’t get any bitter with all the promo being sold off on their story and might possibly go down to become the baddest rivalry in all of combat sports history.
Colby Covington remembers the time when things took a full turn against Jorge Masvidal

In an interview with ESPN MMA Correspondent Brett Okamoto, Covington talks about everything associated with his past relationship with Jorge Masvidal and how much he contributed to Masvidal’s growth as a fighter.
“I didn’t care about myself,” says Covington “I just wanted to be a good training partner. I just wanted to show up anytime he needed a good wrestling and a good guy that was going to push him in the pace. I would show up every single day for him, so as soon as I felt like he backstabbed me then…
It was a full turn after I won the interim title over RDA but after I felt that and I started to feel it you know starting to happen it just, it really sucked man, it just hurts man. We were so close and like to come to this is you can’t really put into words how it feels Brett,” concluded Covington.
Do you sympathise with Covington’s painful experiences heading into UFC 272 against Masvidal? Whose side have you felt holds the truth listening to both of their stories, is it Masvidal or Covington? Who do you think is going to get the better of this possible blood bath we are going to witness this weekend, Masvidal or Covington?
