Dana White sympathizes with former UFC champion Cain Velasquez over his arrest. The UFC President gives his first thoughts on the unfortunate incident.
Cain Velasquez, long-time UFC fighter, WWE fighter, was arrested on Monday. The fighter who lives in San Jose was arrested on counts of attempted murder. The fighter was seen shooting at a vehicle that had several men. The motive behind Cain’s shooting was that one of the men was reported to have misbehaved with a child in a lewd way.
The child was related to the pro-wrestler, which drove the fighter to attempt murder on that man. The shooting took place in Bay Area and Velasquez is in custody. Reports suggest that the fighter could expect imprisonment up to 20 years. In a recent interview with Barstool Sports reporter Robbie Fox, promoting the upcoming event UFC 272, Dana White spoke gave his reaction to the arrest.

“I feel sorry for him,” says Dana White on the former UFC champion
“I obviously feel sorry for him and his family. It’s a horrible thing. I don’t know enough to speak on it, but from what I’ve heard, you know, we all say we’d do it if it ever happened to us. Cain did it,” said Dana on the motive behind Velasquez’s shooting. Velasquez’s shooting take place around 3 p m, California local time and was arrested later that night.
Cain is a long-time UFC fighter and has been a part of the promotion since 2008. The fighter last made an appearance in the UFC octagon in 2019. Velasquez fought “The Predator” Francis Ngannou and lost via a devastating knockout in the very first round.
Velasquez has a professional fighting record of 14-3-0 in his career. Some of his biggest wins include over Brock Lesnar, Ben Rothwell, Junior Dos Santos. Cain trained at the AKA gym which was 26 miles away from the shooting.
