“It’s my belt”- Khamzat Chimaev sends a warning “Nice Guys”, ask Dana White for a fight

Khamzat Chimaev

Khamzat Chimaev believes he will be defeating every welterweight and become the champion in 2020. Chimaev has emerged as one of the most popular and entertaining fighters in recent times. He made his UFC debut at UFC on ESPN 13 against John Phillips in 2020 and won the fight in the second round via submission.

Chimaev made headlines when he fought his second fight against Rhys McKee after 10 days after his debut. After his fight against Gerald Meerschaert, MMA fans started to notice the fighter and were attracted by his dominance in the Octagon and his character outside fighting. Chimaev came out as someone who did not care about opponents. Money, about dates he just wanted to go there to beat others.

His last fight was against Li Jingliang at UFC 267 which he won in the very first round via submission. It’s been two months since the Russian set his foot inside the octagon and the fans are already going restless about his next fight.

Chimaev recently started his personal YouTube channel where he dropped his first video. In the video, Chimaev showed his training footage and a snippet of his day-to-day life. In this video, the ‘Borz’ discussed his approach towards the welterweight championship and how he is going to win it.

Chimaev explained he is going to work very hard and prepare himself for the upcoming fights. The welterweight title belongs to him and everybody knows it and nobody wants to fight him. “Work harder, to take this f belt bro. I’m going to take it, it’s my belt. They know it’s my belt but they run away. But soon I take them. I’m coming guys,” said Chimaev.

Khamzat’s warning for the welterweights speaks volumes about how much the Russian is determined to be the champion. It’s hard to say if he can get the title shot in 2022 as according to Dana White, Chimaev is around 4 fights away from the title fight. If that’s true then there is no way Chimaev can fight four fights in a year. The hype around the fighter is very much and the promotion would like to utilize it to the fullest.
