Jailton Almeida’s only KO defeat to Tyago Moreira

26-year-old Jailton Almeida battled Tyago Moreira in 2017. This was a fight for Katan Fight Promotion at the Katana Fight 3 event in Colombo, Brazil. Until this fight, Jailton Almeida was an undefeated fighter and had competed in both the welterweight and middleweight divisions.

However, this did not go as planned for the Brazilian fighter. In the fight, Tyago Moreira used his speed and power to quickly knock out Jailton Almeida in just 16 seconds. Malhadinho’s lack of experience as a young fighter played a huge part in his loss. The fight was his second fight in the middleweight division.

He finished his first three fights in the welterweight division by rear naked choke before his TKO victory on his middleweight debut. This loss was a major wake-up call for Jailton Almeida. It was the first and last time he fought for the Katana Fight Promotion. The Tyago Moreira loss was his one-and-only until his next loss in 5 months.

Jailton Almeida’s only decision loss against Bruno Assis

Jailton Almeida vs. Bruno Assis was Almeida’s only fight for the Shooto Brasil promotion. It is noteworthy that Assis’ first professional loss was to UFC middleweight title challenger Paulo Costa. Throughout the fight, Almeida was thoroughly outclassed Assis en route to a unanimous decision victory.

This was Jailton Almeida’s second-ever defeat in professional MMA. Although Assis got the victory, his career did not pan out like Almeida’s. Assis lost the Dana White Contender Series fight against UFC middleweight Andre Muniz in 2018. On the other hand, Almeida submitted Nasrudin Nasrudinov via rear naked choke to earn a UFC contract in the Contender Series.

Despite these losses, Jailton Almeida is one of the top-level fighters in the sport of MMA. He has only lost in the middleweight division and is undefeated in the welterweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight divisions. In the UFC, he has fought in both the light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions. He has three performance bonuses in the heavyweight division.
