“I’m gonna go get coached up by him,” Jake Paul will train under Khabib Nurmagomedov for his MMA fight debut
Jake Paul- Khabib Nurmagomedov
Jake Paul has aspirations of pursuing a fighter’s life in the long run, and not just in boxing. Paul so far is 4-0 in his professional boxing career and it wasn’t seen as a big of a deal until Paul knocked out former world champion of MMA Ben Askren in the first round in April this year. If the excuse of Askren being primarily a grappler was enough, Paul decided to take on former UFC Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. To the world’s surprise, Paul really did well against Woodley to secure a decision victory.
Now Paul was supposed to fight a professional boxer in Tommy Fury within a couple of days, till it was announced that Fury cannot fight due to a grave injury, that’s when Woodley jumped as a replacement to avenge his loss to Paul. Paul is aiming at remaining an undefeated boxer so that he can make his transition big and interesting for another sport.
Jake Paul a 100% assured of fighting MMA in near future, reached out to American Kickboxing Academy
The American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) is the home of former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez, former 2 division UFC champion Daniel Cormier, and undefeated mixed martial artist and former Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
In a media scrum for his rematch with Tyron Woodley, Paul said to ESPN Correspondent Marc Raimondi, “I don’t see why if I can do boxing at that high of a level, I couldn’t do MMA at this high of a level. I’m gonna go get coached up by Javier Mendez, Team Khabib, and that’s that. They’re down. A 100%.” Javier Mendez, famous for coaching in boxing aspect of MMA, is the head coach and founder of American Kickboxing Academy.
What will you make of Paul’s promise to step inside an MMA Octagon? How do you think he will square of against MMA fighters? Also, who do you get it winning between Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley?
