Conor McGregor and Jared Leto recently publicly agreed to work on the Irishman’s biopic. The two stars even agreed to collaborate and train together to help the actor get the role down.

It was a huge honor for the UFC superstar Conor McGregor that Academy Award-winning actor Jared Leto expressed interest in playing the role of The Notorious One in a movie about the former two-division champion. The actor was recently cageside for a Fight Night event and revealed that he was a huge fan of fighting and a fan of the Notorious One.

After sharing a conversation with Conor himself, Jared gave insights on what drives him to play this role. Promoting his movie, Morbius, Jared sat down with SkySports to talk about his conversation with Conor and his review on the recent fights in the UFC. “A gifted athlete,” said Leto when asked about Conor’s chances at winning the belt again.

“What I like about Conor a lot is when he is in the ring, there is an artist at work there. There is an artist at work there. He is a very creative fighter, as they say. His fight IQ is off the charts and he is just fascinating to watch in the ring, as well as out.”

“He is a young guy still. He is a young guy and a motivated person. I’m sure he is gonna, you know, he has a long road ahead of him. He is going to do what he wants to do. He is going to be great,” said Leto talking to Sky Sports.

After expressing his interest in playing the part of Conor, the Irishman reached out to the fighter on Twitter and invited the actor to practice the part with him. Conor is ready to host the academy award-winning actor and help him train in mixed martial arts. Leto also responded on Twitter and said “Let’s do it”.

McGregor is currently training to make his comeback from his devastating injury at UFC 264. The Irishman is looking to make his return this fall and is eye-balling a title fight either at 155lbs or 170lbs. Conor recently revealed that he will be targeting a fight against Kamaru Usman for the welterweight belt on his return.
