Khamzat Chimaev attended the prefight press conference for UFC 273 and responded to questions from fans. Li Jingliang, a former opponent and fellow UFC fighter,made an appearance and posed one of the questions.
The Chinese national congratulated Chimaev on his rising popularity and posed the following questions to him, saying, “I know you are good at using your strategy to win and your opponent Gilbert is a very well-rounded opponent. I guess you’re going to take him down in the very first of the fight, am I right?”
“Borz” was quick to admit that he would dominate his opponent through not only wrestling but with power. He says, “I’m gonna kill that guy. I have power in my hands. I don’t care what I’m going to do and I’m gonna go jump in the cage and smash that guy you know. I don’t care, he will be down I smash his face, I will stand up I will knock him out, don’t care brother.”
The Swede, who was born in Chechnya, also accused Burns of not being a true Brazilian, “That guy is not f*****g from Brazil. I’m more Brazilian, I’m from Cantagalo. He is not Brazilian. He speaks English, he can’t speak Portuguese.”

Khamzat Chimaev was all fired up at the UFC 273 press conference, where he shared a platform with Gilbert Burns in anticipation of Saturday’s main event.
While arguing with Burns, Chimaev spit out his classic lines. Before their fight, he promised to “smash” and “kill” his opponent. The fight is a main card pay-per-view event, which will be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN+.
Both men stated that there were no personal issues at stake in the fight, but both were driven to win and have shared this belief with each other. Burns claimed he would do whatever it took to get the job done, while Chimaev claimed he could finish the task in one minute.
