Joe Rogan is most commonly associated with the UFC and his well-known podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. Rogan is an avid fan of boxing and very frequently covers discussions relating to the sport on his podcast. Similarly, in a podcast episode, Rogan explained how Mexican boxers like Canelo Alvarez are extraordinary boxers.

Mexican boxers like Alvarez, David Benavidez, Julio Cesar Chavez, Salvador Sanchez, and Andy Ruiz have represented Mexico admirably. These Mexican boxers have had an extraordinarily successful and illustrious career as boxers. Subsequently, Rogan believed that boxing fans appreciate Mexican boxers because of their straightforward boxing style, which relies on applying pressure. This is what Rogan said:

Mexican fighters aren’t dancers, they are not dancing around, and you know, doing the Ali shuffle. They’re like Julio Cesar Chavez, they’re moving forward.

Furthermore, Rogan went on to mention boxers like Antonio Barrera in terms of their moving-forward fighting style. Rogan also mentioned that Mexican boxers were among the proudest and most rugged warriors ever inside a boxing ring. In the case of Mexican boxers, they have a history of doing their talking inside the cage rather than outside.

Joe Rogan claims Canelo Alvarez got a masterclass from Floyd Mayweather

Alvarez has learned from every opponent he has faced, improving with each fight. However, Rogan believed Alvarez’s greatest and most valuable learning came from Floyd Mayweather a decade ago. Furthermore, the two boxing giants went head-to-head in what was called ‘The One’ on September 14, 2013.

Both boxers were undefeated at the time, and Alvarez entered the fight with the intent of being the first to defeat Mayweather. Subsequently, during the fight, Mayweather could use his incredible defensive techniques to neutralize Alavez’s attacks. Furthermore, Alvarez charged forward at Mayweather, but he could handle himself using his head movement and shoulder roll. The fight ended with Alvarez receiving his first career loss, but Rogan believes it was the biggest lesson Alvarez learned.

In addition, Rogan even called Alvarez’s loss a life lesson, which helped him further improve and sharpen his skills. Currently, Alvarez does not just rely on attacking abilities but rather also uses incredible head movement inside the ring.
