MMA legend and former UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra appeared on the JRE podcast. The host, Joe Rogan, remained in shock after Serra showed how his jaw made a cracking noise due to a contest at the Palladium in Manhattan. He knocked out two fighters at the contest but lost to the third one and got a concussion. The concussion caused his jaw to make a noise every time he moved it forcefully.
Serra attended the popular podcast with former TUF fighters Din Thomas and John Rallo. The trio shared stories and their adventures throughout their fighting careers. Serra also looked back at his fights throughout his career, especially on his fights with UFC legend and former welterweight and middleweight champion Georges St Pierre. Serra is also a BJJ black belt and a successful MMA coach.
Matt Serra also won TUF 4, which earned him a shot at the welterweight championship. Former UFC fighter and Jiu-Jitsu practitioner Renzo Gracie trained Serra to become the first American to be promoted to a black belt by Gracie. He now runs his own BJJ academy. Serra was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2018.
Serra retired with a record of 11-7 in the UFC. His most notable win came against GSP at UFC 69, which earned him the welterweight gold. Serra was the obvious underdog against GSP. During their clash, Serra shocked the world with pummelling punches that earned him the title. Even though he lost the title after 12 months, he secured his legacy as the welterweight and TUF champ.

Cauliflower ears are a common sighting in the MMA industry. They occur when the external portion of the ear gets hit, which results in blood clots. Steve-O is an American entertainer who wanted to get cauliflower ears. He mentioned this story on the JRE podcast. Steve-O, who is a massive UFC fan, requested various fighters to give him a cauliflower ear.
He asked various fighters, such as Chuck Lidell, who attempted to swing a ball off Steve-O’s ear with a golf club. However, that attempt turned out unsuccessful, which led him to superstar Ronda Rousey and her husband Travis Browne. They punched his ear for a whole day and believed he got a cauliflower ear, but it went away the next day.
Recently, he came to the current heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who absolutely battered his ear with the UFC championship belt. It caused a part of his ear to be chipped off. Joe Rogan said, ” Steve had a glutton for punishment.” Rogan always gets honest with his friends and urged Steve to forget about his desire for cauliflower ears.
