“It’s so ironic,” Jorge Masvidal makes Nate Diaz eat his words on fighters not “getting better”
Jorge Masvidal vs Nate Diaz
Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz are hands down amongst the top 3 megastars in the UFC alongside Conor McGregor. We have seen the magnitude of putting both the fighters together, where they brought over celebrities like “The Rock” Dwayne Johnson and former President of the United States, Donald Trump. To be accurate, Diaz and Masvidal squared off against each other back in 2019 at UFC 244 where Masvidal got his hands raised via third-round TKO.
Masvidal then won what was known as the Baddest Motherf**er or the BMF title that was proposed for just this fight in order to make the fight historic in the Madison Square Garden, which it eventually became. In 2021, both Diaz and Masvidal are coming off a loss with Masvidal losing his second title shot against current UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and Diaz losing off a unanimous decision to the most likely next contender for the title shot, Leon Edwards.
Jorge Masvidal goes off on Twitter, responds sharply to Nate Diaz’s tweet reacting to UFC 269 main event
Amongst the many reactions to the main event of UFC 269, where ironically, the champion Charles Oliveira was the one to pull off an upset over the challenger Dustin Poirier in a third-round submission, Nate Diaz was one of those to react. He said reacting to Poirier’s performance in a tweet “These guys don’t get any better [inserts hand on head emoji]”
To this, Masvidal reacted today tagging Diaz’s tweet and saying “Just came across this and it’s so ironic that the individual who can’t block low kicks high kicks or mid kicks is talking shit about fighters getting better #canyouevenspelldoubleleg” The tweet is most likely to be motivated by the fact that Masvidal and Poirier are teammates from the American Top Team.
Both Diaz and Masvidal have different routes as a fighter, with Masvidal aiming for the closest fight to a title shot which will most likely be against his biggest rival in Colby Covington, Diaz is in a Twitter back and forth with Dustin Poirier for a potential superfight. But do you think they may cross paths for another unique title in the near future? Who gets it winning in the rematch?
