Jorge Masvidal is one of the best welterweight fighters in the world. He has all the skills and implements it effectively to be where he is today in the UFC. Even though Gamebred has lost 5 of his last eight bouts in the octagon he still is considered as one of the finest fighters in the division. The reason being, the intensity in which he fights and for the period of time he has been fighting.
Jorge Masvidal started fighting in professional MMA in the year 2003 and has been fighting for the UFC since 2013. Even though Masvidal has never held the welterweight belt he has made sure that the fans remember him for his BMF title and fastest finish in the UFC.
Masvidal vs Diaz was one of the most anticipated bouts in the history of UFC. After defeating Nate, Masvidal won the BMF belt which he still holds strong around his belt. However, he has never defended the belt since it’s a symbolic title.
The other record that the Gamebred holds is the fastest knockout in UFC history. Jorge KOed Ben Askren in UFC 239 only in five seconds after the start of their fight. A high knee from the Gamebred knocked Askren out for the night.
Jorge Masvidal explains what made him go for that killer knee against Ben Askren at UFC 239

Recently, Jorge Masvidal sat down with Logan Paul and co for a podcast in his YouTube channel Impulsive. Masvidal talked about his career and more with Paul.
Interestingly, the fighter also revealed about knowing how fast he was going to finish Ben Askren even before fghting him. He explained how he saw Ben inside the octagon gesturing about initiating the fight by moving forward. This made Jorge plan to land a knee from the start of the fight.
“Going into the cage I was like there is a good chance I am going to land this. When I got into the cage and I saw how he was acting and how imposing…he just wanted to come forward. I was like man there is a good chance he is going to come forward and if he comes forward his next thing is to duck and go for the shot and if he does that he is dead. So I knew that as long as he took that initiative “forward step” I was going to f*ck his world up” Said Jorge Masvidal in the podcast.
Nevertheless, it doesn’t matter if it was planned or not because at the end of the day Jorge still holds the record. But, the fact that he was sure of knocking him out from his initial gestures inside the octagon explains how good of a fighter Masvidal is and no wonder why he is one of the top welterweights.
