Julianna Pena calls out Ronda Rousey
UFC bantamweight champion Julianna Pena has an opponent in mind for her near future and it is Ronda Rousey. The champ is very certain that she wants to take on the superstar one day in the near future.
After stunning the entire world with her win against the greatest women fighter in UFC’s history, Julianna Pena wants to make the headlines again by fighting former UFC champion, Ronda Rousey. Pena is now the bantamweight champion after her submission victory against Amanda Nunes at UFC 269 and is most likely to take on Nunes for a bantamweight title rematch.
In a recent interview with The Schmo, Julianna expressed her interest to fight Rousey in a bantamweight bout and reveals it is her dream fight. “Well they always ask me who is my dream match up, and Ronda is definitely it for me,” said Pena talking to The Schmo.
Pena was in Dallas, Texas to witness WWE’s WrestleMania 38. Ronda was also part of the card in WrestleMania 38 as she took on Charlotte Flair.
Julianna Pena urges Ronda Rousey to come back to the UFC
“I love that fight. I was calling for it after I won the Ultimate Fighter, I was calling for it after I won a few times after winning TUF. It is a dream matchup for me and I would love to welcome her back to the division,” said Julianna.
“If Charlotte [WWE star] defends her title and beats Ronda, I’m just here to pour a little salt on the wound and say, ‘Hey Ronda, come back to this side…come back to where you made it all happen.”
Ronda has not fought in the UFC since 2016. The UFC superstar last fought against Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 which was one of the biggest fights in the history of the promotion. Julianna, on the other hand, will most likely take on Nunes in a rematch and hope to make her first title defense. Watch Pena’s interview with The Schmo below:
