“Just bend the knee,” Sean Strickland calls for Ukraine to surrender in its conflict with Russia, Jan Blachowicz fires back

Jan Blachowicz- Sean Strickland
UFC Middleweight Sean Strickland doesn’t fade away from speaking fearlessly what he thinks is right as per his conscience, even if it’s a rather unpopular opinion to put out. Case in point, Strickland has been active in his say on the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia which has escalated to such a level that the Russian military forces have invaded the other country and neither of the two sides is willing to back down if the situation reaches to a full-fledged hot war.

Strickland was last seen at UFC Vegas 47 when he headlined the main event alongside Swedish mixed martial artist Jack Hermansson. Strickland defeated Hermansson via split decision which according to the MMA Community should’ve been a unanimous decision victory. Strickland is one of the fastest rising prospects to title contention and is going to face a top 5 opponent anytime soon.
Jan Blachowicz asks Sean Strickland if he would ever bend in front of his enemy as the latter suggests

As a part of his daily routine, Strickland yet again took an uncomfortable choice of words on a critical issue, the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine and typed on Twitter “Ukraine should just bend the knee and become Russian… I understand it sucks and yes you could win….. but do you really want to be the new Afghanistan for the next 30 years??? Not saying it’s right but this hard pill to swallow will be better in the end.”
In return, former UFC Lightheavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz decided to respond to Strickland’s opinion in an opposing manner and said “Would you? It is easy to give away someone else’s independence… The history of the Eastern European region is full of struggle and suffering. Ukraine – as a country and as a people – has endured much. Their resistance is understandable and admirable. Freedom!“
