Usman, who was attending the NBA event with Ali Abdelaziz, his manager, last fought at UFC 268 when he fought Colby Covington and made his fifth title defence successful via unanimous decision. Usman is most likely to fight fellow welterweight contender Leon Edwards for the second time, possibly on or after July. The first fight happened back in 2015 when Usman defeated Edwards via unanimous decision.

Usman is currently the #1 pound for pound fighter on UFC’s rankings. With 5-title defences, many believe that he will surpass the great Georges St-Pierre on a road to becoming the greatest welterweight fighter of all time. On his list, Usman has got wins over the likes of Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal that too twice, Leon Edwards, Rafael Dos Anjos, Demian Maia, Gilbert Burns, Tyron Woodley, Sean Strickland and many more.

With that said, the welterweight division is coming off with some fresh blood for the future as well. Khamzat Chimaev, who’s 4-0 in UFC has finished all his fights whilst getting hit only twice. 3 of his four finishes come within the first round and is now heading to fight a former title challenger in Gilbert Burns. Alongside Chimaev, there’s Shavkat Rakhmonov, who’s 3-0 in the UFC, 15-0 overall and have all the fights finished. Who do you think is next for Usman if he surpasses Edwards and defends the title for the sixth time?
