After the recent brawl between Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington, UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman weighs in on the situation and talks about what went wrong.
Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington are one of the biggest rivals in the sport of MMA. The two fighters turned from best friends to the worst of enemies and got the opportunity to settle things inside the octagon at UFC 272. Covington, as usual, talked a lot of smack leading up to the fight which surely got under the nerves of Masvidal.
The two headlined the event and Covington got the last laugh as he won the fight via unanimous decision. Irrespective of the outcome of the fight, both the fighters said out in public that they two will definitely fight in public. Soon enough, Masvial ambushed Covington outside a restaurant in Miami and attacked the fighter.
UFC champion Kamaru Usman spoke about the incident and gave his thoughts on it. “You can’t just run off at the mouth and say what you want or do what you want and expect the opponent to still keep it sport-related,” said Usman on Covington’s trash talk crossing the boundaries.
Kamaru Usman believes the two fighters have no right to do whatever they want
“Both guys I believe are in the wrong. You can’t just do what you want or say what you want to sell something,” Usman said on both the fighters lashing it out in public. Jorge attacked Covington and also damaged the fighter’s tooth in his assault. “Gamebred” was also arrested for his attack in Miami.
Usman has fought both, Masvidal and Covington in the octagon twice each. Both, Jorge and Colby have not found success against the champ. Colby did not hold back against the champion either. The “Chaos” went after Usman’s father and family in his attempt to get under the skin of the champ.
Do you think Jorge and Colby are both to be held accountable for the aftermath?
