Kamaru Usman thinks the former champ-champ Conor McGregor isn’t all about that these days. The Nigerian Nightmare does not believes the Irishman still has that hunger in him like the past.

Kamaru Usman is on the top of the mountain and arguably the pound-for-pound fighter was given that Jon Jones has not been active for a long time. The Nigerian is coming off a win against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 261 where he knocked ‘Gamebred’ out in the second round. This is Jorge’s first-ever KO loss in his career.

Kamaru has been on a run of interviews ever since he successfully defended his belt. Recently he appeared on a show with ESPN MMA‘s Ahora o Nunca. They spoke about his reign as a UFC Welterweight champion and his thoughts on Jake Paul and Conor McGregor. In the interview, Usman made a statement that could get the Nigerian some backlash from the fans.

“He’s not the champion Conor McGregor. He’s not the double champion. He’s not that guy anymore…The old Conor, the hungry Conor, that was the fighter that fighters respected. Not that we don’t respect him at all, he’s still a UFC fighter, but he’s just a regular fighter,” said Kamaru in the interview about ‘The Notorious One’.

McGregor and Kamaru have been going back and forth for quite some time now. McGregor was rumbling on Twitter saying he would fight the welterweight champion but Kamaru and his manager Ali Abdelaziz fired back saying he wasn’t man enough. There was always some animosity between the two fighters.

Usman believes that Conor isn’t the guy he used to be which is what many fans believe too. McGregor just hasn’t been the same since the Khabib Nurmagomedov loss and it has shown. Conor is now training to fight Dustin Poirier for his trilogy fight at UFC 264 in the month of July.
